Big Money - Milwaukee Magazine "Menards managers must sign a work agreement in which they consent to pages of rules and penalties: They are fined $10 if there are more than 15 carts in the parking lot, $100 a minute if a store opens late, $10 if a customer doesn’t pick up a special order within 10 days. With military-like discipline, a manager’s absences are tightly controlled, and suggestions to a superior are not welcome." www.milwaukeemag.com

Corporate Giving…and Taking, Menards’ Final Dollar of Mine | Triple J's Realm "I’ve spent my last dollar I ever will at a Menards store for the rest of my life. It’s not often I can say something with such assurance as that. We often disagree with principles of an organization, or don’t know about them, and still patronize them with our business because of the services and/or products they provide in our market or community. Most places that I’ve ever seen a Menards store in Wisconsin…there is another option, and I know I’ll be choosing it always, whatever the cost."

To quote FDR:

"Many hard lessons have taught us the human waste that results from lack of planning. Here and there a few wise cities and countries have looked ahead and planned, but our nation has "just grown." It is time to extend planning to a wider field. If we are successful, we can march on, step by step, in a development of the great natural territories within our borders."
